Sudden

After a long long time, spent time watching television comfortably, and with a warm and happy feeling.

But an overwhelming feeling of unease later on, like there's a joke that everybody else knows, and it's on me. Discomfiting, niggling, annoying, unsettling. And then just now a discovery that doesn't surpise me, but shakes up my world for a few seconds.

A hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach as I realise anew how my world has changed in the last couple of years.
